Starting the new year with a new logo and purpose!

The logo was inspired by Japanese hanko stamps for artisans. This design will also serve as my makers mark as well as digital watermark and a trademark will be registered against this exact design.

The Kanji in the circle of the upper left means Kona, or master engraver / mark maker (Steven means “crown” as well as “Kan” in Japanese). The bottom Kanji symbols represent my maternal family name of Morita, which will be my artistic pseudonym going forward. The bottom left symbol represents three trees and to the right represents rice paddies. The mountains to the top right represents the Flatirons in Boulder, Colorado.
