Ever since the country of Australia denied my entry into their country to study, I have completely changed my golden years life plan. Although Australia gave me many shady reasons why I was not good enough for them such as age and money which are both such a joke, I have taken the age discrimination to heart and have decided to dropout of the economy indefinitely. Additionally, their suggestion to study at home is a non-starter especially seeing that obtaining an MFA here in Colorado would cost almost double in tuition ($30k vs. $50k) plus time (18 vs 30 months long programs).

This rejection has actually become a blessing in disguise. As my daughter is now pivoting academically and my parents and in-laws are getting quite old, this new found flexibility is giving me the time to truly put family first. However, this has profoundly affected my photography practice primarily because I have decided that putting on another hustle at this phase of my life is rather untenable. Unless our nest-egg evaporates, I simply would like to make Art for art’s sake.
