I am convinced that we humans will never do what is necessary for long-term survival of all residents of this planet even though we have the solutions at hand. By continually putting humans first, we have actually achieved the opposite. So, with this thought process, what is the reason for making art or even photography at all?

Other than personal reasons that I find rather meditative and therapeutic, maybe my choice to focus on wild things is simply a means to memorialize what will be soon lost. It may not necessarily be during even my children’s lives, but humanity has shown it’s collective vibe and I guess we all know where it is all heading.

I may be simply documenting as many species in the best light as possible, or I may find something more profound in this journey. I have at least come to terms that my photography / Art won’t change anything in general, but hope they help future people learn and deal with what, we, their forefathers have ultimately wrought upon them through our greed and willful ignorance.
